Research Interest

As a long-term researcher in endocrine and metabolic diseases, Professor Xiao has published over 50 papers in core Chinese and foreign periodicals such as Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism (JCEM), Brain Research, etc. Moreover, he took the lead in treating Graves’ diseases by introducing thyroid arterial embolization, and for the first time ever, he reported relevant findings of using innovative methods to treat Graves’ diseases in the prestigious Journal of JCEM. His clinical treatments of American and British patients with stubborn hyperthyroidism have been proved very successful and specially reported by CNN, causing profound international resonance. In June of 2012, he published another academic thesis “Circulating MicroRNA Profiles as Potential Biomarkers for Diagnosis of Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma” in JCEM which has received high attention and positive response among medical scientists home and abroad.
