Many CGM systems integrate with smartphones, smart watches, and insulin pumps, providing comprehensive diabetes management. Insulin pumps are small, computerized devices that deliver continuous subcutaneous insulin infusion (CSII). They provide both basal (background) insulin and bolus (mealtime) insulin doses Smart pens record insulin doses, helping users and healthcare providers monitor and adjust therapy Users receive reminders for missed doses and alerts for potential dosing errors. Many smart pens can sync with smartphone apps to provide detailed reports and trends. Also known as artificial pancreas systems, hybrid closed-loop systems combine CGMs and insulin pumps to automate insulin delivery.
