When the gland produces too much thyroid hormone , the condition is called hyperthyroidism. When the gland produces too little thyroid hormone , the condition is called hypothyroidism. In women, thyroid diseases can cause problems with your menstrual period, Problems getting pregnant, Problems during pregnancy.
